Random Acts of Kindness

Thank you everyone for such a wonderful summer! Over the next 3 weeks, try and complete as many random acts of kindness as you can to spread positivity to your family, friends, and community. Keep a log of the random acts you complete and we will share when we come back! See you all September 7, 2017 for the start of the new school year! 

  1. Open the door for someone.
  2. Help someone carrying a lot of stuff.
  3. Invite a friend to the movies or dinner.
  4. Put change in a vending machine.
  5. Drop off a toy or game at a homeless shelter.
  6. Send someone a small gift anonymously.
  7. Bring flowers to your friend or a neighbor.
  8. Pay for the person behind you at the drive-thru.
  9. Write encouraging post-its for strangers to find.
  10. Pay someone a compliment.
  11. Text a friend to say you’re thinking of them.
  12. Bring a treat to share with your coworkers.
  13. Let someone merge into your lane in traffic.
  14. Let someone cut in front of you in line.
  15. Return a shopping cart to its proper place.
  16. Tell someone how they’ve impacted your life.
  17. Donate $1 to the next tip jar you see.
  18. Bring someone a coffee, just how they like it.
  19. Give away clothing you don’t need.
  20. Participate in a charity walk/run.
  21. Buy someone a lottery scratch ticket.
  22. Send a card or handwritten note to a friend.
  23. Donate to a table outside of a store.
  24. Spend a morning at an animal shelter.
  25. Give an afternoon to a soup kitchen.
  26. Donate needed items to a shelter.
  27. Leave a nice comment on a blog.
  28. Spend quality time with a family member.
  29. Take care of the chores your partner hates.
  30. Tell someone you love them.
  31. Freely offer your skills.
  32. Give someone you love a hug.
  33. Make a donation to a cause you believe in.
  34. Introduce yourself to your neighbors.
  35. Show support to an artist.
  36. Smile at strangers.
  37. Make cards and mail them to a senior center.

Reflect on our character analysis of the different characters from the Odyssey. Then create a checklist to begin planning the creation of your character for the 3D map.

Material Options: Cardboard, Clay, Modeling Plaster, Fabric, Wood, Paint.

Create an illustration of how your character will look in 3D. Label the illustration with the materials you plan to use. 

Level 3:
